WESTERN NEW YORK REGION STRATEGIC PLANNING UPDATE-JULY 2000

In June of 1999, members of the Western New York Region gathered to brainstorm ideas and goals-both lofty and realistic-that our region could undertake.

I am re-presenting the list at this time with notations to identify status when applicable. Interestingly, some of these initiatives are currently underway. Some are not. The purpose of this handout is to re-introduce these ideas with the hope of sparking some interest and engagement. In this vein, I offer the following motions:

· Regional Literature Office
· Regional Phoneline
· Regional schedules printed more frequently ***Action underway (?)

· Monthly meetings ***Action to be initiated today during new business
· Rotating meetings in our member areas ***Motion passed; no action
· Regional Service Office

· Subcommittees vs. Resource assignments
· Regional support of By-Law/Guideline development

· Pre-determined amount of literature donated to region by the areas after the Regional Convention

· RD and RD Alternate meet with RCM/RCM alternates during the off months to maintain regional-area communications
